Virtual trading

Practice with virtual money on real prices

Start with 1 billion VND in virtual money and practice 10 supported order types on real prices with real market rules: T+2, price bands, sessions, margin and VN30 and VN100 index futures.

Virtual money is for practice. It is not cash and cannot be withdrawn.

Real market prices, simulated matching — results can differ from real trading.

How practice works

1 billion VND to start

Your practice account opens with 1,000,000,000 VND in virtual money.

Real prices, simulated matching

Virtual orders use real HOSE, HNX and UPCoM prices. Matching is simulated, so results can differ from real trading.

Several practice sub-accounts

Keep different ideas apart in separate practice sub-accounts.

ETFs and covered warrants

Practice ETFs and covered warrants with virtual money. Warrants held to maturity settle in virtual cash. A warrant stops trading after its last trading date, and the payout date follows the official notice.

The Paave app trade screen for VNM: the virtual order ticket beside the order book and matched trades.

Virtual order types

Practice 10 supported virtual order types: LO, ATO, ATC, MTL, MOK, MAK, PLO, stop-limit, stop-market and odd lot. Every order here is virtual.

LO · Virtual limit order

Buy or sell at your price or better. Use it when you want to control the price. Placing an order does not guarantee a fill, and it can fill partly.

HOSE only

ATO · Opening auction order

Takes part in the opening auction and fills at the opening auction price, up to the reported auction volume.

ATC · Closing auction order

Takes part in the closing auction and fills at the closing auction price, up to the reported auction volume.

MTL · Market-to-limit order

A virtual market order. Any unfilled remainder becomes a limit order.

HNX only

MOK · Match-or-kill order

Fills in full or is cancelled. Use it when a partial fill is no use to you.

HNX only

MAK · Match-and-kill order

Fills what it can and cancels the rest. Use it when you want whatever can fill now, without leaving an order waiting.

HNX only

PLO · Post-close order

Placed in the post-close session after the market closes and filled at the closing price.

Stop-limit order

Waits until the price reaches the trigger you choose, then places a virtual limit order.

Stop-market order

Waits until the price reaches the trigger you choose, then places a virtual market order.

Continuous session only

Odd-lot order

For 1–99 shares, such as a small virtual position. Available in the continuous session only.

How a virtual order fills

Simulated matching uses the order book shown when you place the order and the trades reported after it.

Your place in line

Volume already waiting at your price is counted first.

Auctions

ATO and ATC orders fill at the auction price, up to the reported auction volume.

Each order on its own

A virtual order fills independently of other members' orders.

Costs included

Virtual results include trading fees and tax. Futures include their fees.

Settlement

Settlement follows the trading calendar: two trading days after the trade (T+2) for stocks.

Real market rules

Virtual orders follow the rules of the Vietnamese market.

T+2 settlement

Virtual buys and sale proceeds settle 2 trading days after the trade.

Price steps, bands and sessions

Virtual orders follow price steps, daily price limits and trading sessions.

Dividends and rights

Cash dividends, stock dividends and rights are applied to your virtual holdings.

Advanced practice

Separate features for practicing more than cash trading.

Advanced practice

Margin practice

Practice how borrowing, interest, margin calls and forced selling affect a virtual account. No real credit is involved.

Advanced practice

VN30 and VN100 index futures practice

Practice VN30 and VN100 index futures with a separate virtual wallet. Daily profit and loss settlement and final settlement at expiry are simulated.

Advanced practice

Cash advance practice

Practice advancing virtual sale proceeds before T+2.

Margin practice, step by step

Learn how borrowing works in a virtual account. No real credit is involved. Margin practice is in the Paave app.

1. Borrow virtual money

Use margin practice to buy more than your own virtual cash allows.

2. Interest adds up

Borrowing comes with interest, so holding a borrowed position has a cost.

3. Margin calls

A margin call is a warning that the borrowing is no longer comfortably covered.

4. Forced selling

If it is not resolved, holdings can be sold automatically in the virtual account, without a confirmation.

Futures practice, step by step

Practice VN index futures without real contracts or money. Futures practice is in the Paave app.

1. A separate virtual wallet

Futures practice uses its own virtual wallet, apart from your stock account.

2. VN30 and VN100

Practice VN30 and VN100 index futures.

3. Daily profit and loss

Profit and loss are settled each day, as a simulation.

4. Final settlement at expiry

When a contract expires, its final settlement is simulated.

5. Costs included

Futures include their fees in your virtual results.
